Hunting

So I'm starting to search for one of these.  Getting the prices straight making sure that I can afford it, all those fun things.  I mean what sense is it to have a budget here if I take that budget to California and, well, it's ineffective because I didn't look at pricing?  I've got 85 days until I take the trip out.

Currently the area of focus is Van Nuys, but I've also spotted a place I really like in Boyle Heights.  If anyone knows about any of the neighborhoods and has some input please share it.

I really have no idea why I like this place so much.  It just appeals to me somehow. The price range of what I've seen is great though basically I'd be paying there what I pay here currently, but with a roommate so not really an issue for me.

I've also been utilizing the handy map the LA Times provides with Crime stats and factoids about the neighborhoods.  I'm not agreeing to anything before moving out but it's nice to know what can be expected in what area.

Now time for a movie recommendation.  I recently saw this movie and it ties in with the move in so many ways so I thought I'd share it.  I really enjoyed it and can't understand why it was never more popular.

Anyone know of any similar movies?
